The Lodge at Punta Rica sits on a hilltop on Isla Bastimentos in Bocas del Toro, Panama, about 10 minutes by boat from Bocas Town. There are no roads here: you arrive by boat at our private dock. From the decks you look out over the jungle and the bay toward Old Bank and Bocas Town. The lodge runs on solar power and rainwater and there are no TVs, so the soundtrack is birds, howler monkeys and the water.
Your hosts, Brian Roth and Daniel Miller, are expats from Northern California who made Bastimentos home. Dan leads the kitchen, and the breakfasts and three-course dinners are what guests mention most in their reviews, along with the welcome. Brian and Dan plan the boat transfers, tours and dinners around you, so your days take care of themselves.
We keep the lodge small on purpose. Six suites means you are never one of hundreds: breakfast is cooked to order, our chef cooks dinner six nights a week, and the people who run the place know your plans.
