Water taxis are the main mode of transport. We can arrange a boat for you or provide contact details for trusted captains. Taxis can also be hailed from our dock. Always confirm pricing in advance—trips to Bocas Town are $5 per person; to Old Bank, $3 per person. The lodge is about a 10-minute boat ride from Bocas Town.
We call it barefoot luxury. You’re looked after the way you would be at a fine hotel, with breakfast cooked to order, a chef who cooks three-course dinners six nights a week, a bar, a 32-foot pool, and hosts who help plan your days. But it’s relaxed, with no dress code, in the jungle on Isla Bastimentos. We’re an adults-only property — the lodge is open-air, with stairs, balconies and railings that aren’t suited to small children. The one exception is a full lodge buyout: when your group takes the whole lodge, children are welcome. We’d suggest ages 12 and up, given the boat transfers and the distance to shops.
A daily cooked-to-order breakfast is included, served from 8:00–10:00. We also offer a 3-course dinner six nights a week — every evening except Sunday — plus a poolside lunch menu from 12:00–3:00.
Yes, we offer vegetarian and vegan options. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary needs when you book.
Yes. An in-lodge massage or a private yoga instructor can be booked in advance at extra cost; just ask us when you book or before you arrive. Yoga mats are provided in the suites.
We ask that guests avoid bringing outside food, as it may attract insects. Note that guest kitchens are not available.
We take payments through ChargeAutomation, our secure payment partner (all major cards accepted). After you book, you’ll get a secure link to pay a 50% deposit; please pay it within 24 hours to secure your dates, as unpaid bookings may be released. The other 50% is charged automatically 30 days before you arrive, so there’s nothing to pay at check-in. At the lodge, we prefer cash (US dollars) for food and drinks; Visa and Mastercard are accepted with a 5% processing fee, and there is an ATM in Bocas Town.
When you book direct, you choose between two rates. Our flexible rate gives you free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival; after that, 50% of the stay is charged. Our non-refundable rate is about 5% lower and can’t be refunded. Bookings made through Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia or Vrbo follow that platform’s policy.

We recommend lightweight luggage, a reusable water bottle, quick-dry clothing, a rain jacket, hiking shoes, bug spray, reef-safe sunscreen, a flashlight, and a good book.

Check-in is 2:00–6:00 PM, and our last boat from Bocas Town leaves at 5:30 PM. Arriving later? We’ll help you arrange a water taxi. Early-morning departures are no problem with advance notice—just let us know your travel plans ahead of time.

Take a short taxi to the Bocas Town waterfront (ask us for the current fare). We pick you up for free at our standard pickup point behind Virginia’s House, the yellow house to the left of the police station, and bring you to the lodge by boat. Please confirm your arrival with us 24 hours ahead. Our last boat leaves Bocas Town at 5:30 PM, so you can check in before 6 PM. It’s about a 10-minute ride to our dock, where we carry your luggage up the path to the lodge and welcome you with your room key and a cocktail. Arriving later? We’ll help you arrange a water taxi. We also drop you back at the dock when you leave.
Yes. The Entire Lodge booking gives your group all six suites (four King and two Queen) for up to 12 guests, with the pool, bar, dining area and Grand Room private to your group. Children and infants are welcome on an Entire Lodge booking (we suggest ages 12 and up because of boat transfers). Message us with your dates and group size for a quote.

Yes, 10 PM to 8 AM, so everyone can enjoy the sounds of the jungle and the sea.
Bocas is warm all year, with daytime highs around 84°F (29°C), and tropical showers can happen in any month, often in the morning before clearing by lunch. Rainfall is lightest from roughly February through April, with another quieter stretch in many years in September–October, and heaviest in November and December. Whatever the month, the pool, the open-air dining table and the chef’s kitchen do not depend on the weather.
