Taking the Whole Lodge: A Four-Night Group Plan in Bocas del Toro

With an Entire Lodge booking, The Lodge at Punta Rica becomes a private lodge in Bocas del Toro, exclusive to your group. It’s our favorite way of hosting; there’s something special in the air when it’s a private group. Six suites, up to 12 guests, and a pool, bar and dining room that are yours alone. No other guests, just your people, your hosts and our staff. Children and infants are welcome when you take the whole lodge. Here is how we would plan four nights… (read on!)

What is private to your group

  • All six suites: four two-story King Suites and two Queen Suites
  • The pool, bar, dining area and Grand Room living room
  • Wide decks, a private dock and beach access (not a private beach)
  • Kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel gear
  • Your on-site hosts, Dan and Brian, plus a chef and bartender

Night 1: Arrive

We pick your group up by boat at the Bocas Town dock, and a welcome cocktail is waiting at the lodge. Settle in, swim, watch the sunset from the deck, then sit down to the chef’s dinner. (New to the trip? Here is how to get here, step by step.)

Day 2: Beach and reef

Snorkel with our gear, then take a short water taxi to Red Frog Beach, or plan a day out to Cayo Zapatillas. Back at the lodge, the pool is yours.

Day 3: Village and trail

Take a water taxi to Old Bank and hike to Wizard Beach (about a 40-minute walk). Come back for a late lunch by the pool: the poolside menu runs from noon to 3:00.

Day 4: Chocolate and islands

Try the chocolate and permaculture tour at La Loma, or let Bocas Islands Adventours build a custom island day for your group. Prefer to stay in? Book a massage or a private yoga session at the lodge, arranged in advance at extra cost (yoga mats are provided in the suites). Then the farewell dinner.

Day 5: Depart

Breakfast, one last swim if there is time, then a boat back to the Bocas Town dock.

Food and drink for a group

Breakfast is cooked to order and included (served 8:00–10:00). A poolside lunch menu runs 12:00–3:00, and our chef cooks a three-course dinner six nights a week (not Sundays). There is a full bar, and food and drink are tallied on one bill at checkout. Vegetarian and vegan options are available; tell us about allergies and dietary needs when you book.

Good to know before you book

  • Celebrations and events are welcome when they are planned with us in advance. Tell us your idea and headcount.
  • Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Smoking is outdoors only.
  • The lodge is a hilltop property with many stairs and uneven paths, the pool is not fenced, and the dock has deep water. Bringing children? Plan on close supervision.
  • We run on solar power and rainwater; there are no TVs, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
  • One dog per booking is welcome at no extra charge.
  • Add-ons: an in-lodge massage or a private yoga instructor can be booked in advance at extra cost.

What it costs

The whole lodge starts from $1,118 per night before taxes in our quieter months, and about $1,300 in peak season (non-refundable rate, checked October 2026; flexible rates run about 5% higher). Shared by 12 guests, that is about $93 per person per night, with breakfast included. On our flexible rate you can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before arrival; the non-refundable rate is about 5% lower. See current dates and details on our private buyout page.

What happens after you book

You will hear from us through a few different systems. That is normal, and they are all us:

  1. A booking confirmation from our booking system, Guesty.
  2. A secure link from ChargeAutomation, our payment partner, to pay your 50% deposit (please pay within 24 hours to secure your dates) and complete a short online check-in (guest details, arrival info and the rental agreement).
  3. Your free Full Guide to Bocas, sent once your deposit and online check-in are done.
  4. Personal emails from reservations@rhghosting.com to plan your boat pickup, dinners and tours.

The other 50% is charged 30 days before arrival. Three senders, one stay. If anything looks unexpected, reply to reservations@rhghosting.com and we will sort it out.
